Our Team
Terry Elder, M.D.
FACEP, President & CEO
Terry Elder began his career as an Emergency Medicine physician in 1981. In 1983, after realizing a need for improved cardiac biomarkers and meeting Richard Warrington, PhD, they founded the forerunner company of Proteome Sciences. Proteome went on to become a pioneer in the then new science of proteomics and the discovery of human protein biomarkers. Terry remained a shareholder but focused his energy on his ER career and various other enterprises as well as his lifelong mission for humanitarian aid and disaster relief utilizing aviation.
After research was published in 2012 identifying GSTP as a potential biomarker for stroke, Terry identified the real need for a PoC (point of care) device to assess GSTP levels in patients in real time and assist in diagnosis. Terry and Richard approached the Proteome board, obtained a co-license for GSTP development in PoC, and Galaxy was born.
